Austin Diaper Bank still wants your diapers

The Austin Diaper Bank is still gathering diapers to send to Hurricane Harvey-affected areas. By Saturday, it had distributed 600,000 diapers donated by from individual folks from around the country.

On Thursday Huggies sent 100,000 diapers to the diaper bank. On Saturday another 100,000 diapers came from Baby2Baby, a Los Angeles-based organization that supports low-income folks with diapers, clothing and basic necessities. Those diapers were loaded onto a truck that was donated by Austin’s SKG Inc. furniture company and sent to Beaumont.

There are still more ways to help the diaper bank. Hat Creek Burger is hosting a diaper drive 9 a.m. to noon Thursday at the Westlake location, 5902 Bee Cave Road, and 4 to 7 p.m. Sept. 14 at the Domain Northside location, 3210 Esperanza Crossing, Suite 100. For every item donated, Hat Creek will give you a $5 gift card. You also can give a monetary donation and Hat Creek will match it with a gift card in the same amount.

Musician Staci Gray will be entertaining during the drives.
