Schools.com, an online site for the college search process, ranked more than 1,600 four-year schools, paying special attention to affordability, flexibility, number of programs offered and retention rates. It ranked the top 25. And, no, Harvard and Yale aren’t on there. It’s not that kind of ranking.
What is on there is Texas A&M, coming in at No. 2. Where’s UT? Not in the top 25, but Texas Women’s University at UT at Permian Basin are.
Here’s the list:
- Utah State University
- Texas A&M at College Station
- University of Utah
- University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
- University of Florida
- North Carolina State University at Raleigh
- Utah Valley University
- University of Oklahoma, Norman Campus
- University of Maryland, College Park
- Oklahoma State University, main campus
- Iowa State University
- Indiana University, Bloomington
- University of Texas at Permian Basin
- University of Wyoming
- Weber State University
- Brigham Young University, Provo
- Appalachian State University
- Southwestern Oklahoma State University
- Brigham Young University, Idaho
- Purdue University
- University of Alaska Fairbanks
- University of North Carolina at Charlotte
- Minot State University
- Texas Woman’s University
- University of Minnesota, Twin Cities
Only three of these schools had tuition and fees above $10,000 a year, with the highest being Minnesota at $13,790. What is a little puzzling is the number of Utah schools here.
